Urgent Help Needed With Jambo

hes all happy and swimming and wagging for his brekky again this morning ( even tho hes not supposed to get fed)
i cant beilive that this was the fishy equivilent of a temper tantrum  but on the other hand im soooooo glad it was
tan has heated up lovely over night, anyway a few Q`s

will the temp drop have any lasting damage?
how come he dropped so suddenly to the floor?

i cant put any pics up yet as the tank lights are still off, and the sun is taking its time comming up,and the last thing i want to do frighten him with a flash
but from what i can see im pretty sure hes 100% ok now :) :) :) :)

thanks again for all the help, i was a jibbering mess yesterday, now all i have to worry about is in which form he will take his revenge...cos lets face it

Glad to hear hes ok today shelagh :D

The temp drop wont effect him long term, but try not to let it get that low and fluctuating again :)

Ive read that Oscars do become lethargic when temperature gets too low, they cant regulate their body temperature so they rely on the water temp or something like that, because especially as they get older they are not as active then they will just lay down and sleep if they get cold, there is a lowest temp Oscars can be kept before they die and its not that low either, I remember reading it when I had mine and was concerned in case I ever did a too big a water change and lowered the temp too much for them.

water tests were spot on

ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 10
ph 7.5 ( this is usually 6.8 in all my tanks, tho i have recntly added wood,so dunno why the rise)

:) :)
