Upgrading Tank

yes, i know, i only brought a 60ltr 6 odd weeks ago but i've come across a bargain;

18x18x18, with cabinet and hood in a knotty oak coloring with inbuilt light in the hood (custom made)

the price £150

it is a 96ltr cube style but it's perfect for my home, big but not too big

am i nuts??

I reckon you could go bigger for that kind of money my 240 liter with a fluval FX5 cost me £150 about 10 months ago? Something like that. But then again cubes are usually more expensive, especially custom made ones....... does it have optiwhite glass?

Secondhand - I dont think I would buy new ever again to be fair I mean it was a faff getting it all scrubbed down and stuff but nothing seriously bad about 2 days work really.

If you were to go with one of those three i would say the Juwel Rio 125 by a country mile.

Unsure what you mean by that BethK, but to clarify you can use the internal filter that comes with the Juwel range and/or use an external filter. I have the Juwel Rio 180 and i used the internal filter for about 4 years. I then grew tired of it and decided to remove it and use an external Fluval 305. You can use both simultaneously for added filtration. Hope this answers your question. If not could you be more specific...

being that the tank is 125, i suppose for extra filtration/oxygen, then i could add it

I've never even hear dof these filters. I suppose it would work fine, assuming you don't overload the tank. Maybe someone with a little more experience of these type of filters can help. Personally i prefere and only use externals, far more efficient if you ask me.

If you go with the Rio 125 i can defo say it has an internal filter built in, so you should be absolutely fine for filtration. Ofcourse adding anything extra is always a bonus to a certain extent. So in theory you have nothing to worry about.

I've just remembered there a guy selling his Juwel Rio 125, he's in St Neots, Cambs. I'll link you to his thread. Here you go Bargain, saves you extra money. Only thing you might want to concider is transport?
