Yep, nine is still barely middle aged for a cat. My last one passed away a couple of months ago at 17, and he'd never been the healthiest of cats - but 20 or more isn't unusual either.

I’m surprised by the fact that my cat hates duck and vice versa when they all grown up

she is now 9 years old and I don’t know if she’ll live through this year or not.

9 is definitely not old for a cat. I'm sure you'll still have her for many more years.
