Two headed fish !!!! (with pic)

I aggree tttnjfttt. I just don't see how it is going to survive. I would never want to allow it to die a slow painful death, even if it could eat. I would personally put it out of its misery. If donation is possible that is a good idea too.

I've heard of it before it's not rare, it's just a deformity, usually they die in a couple of days.

amazing man if I were you keep it. Not for the money, but it would be cool to have a 2 headed fish in a tank :D.

I would try to raise it in a seperate tank and see how it goes. If its suffering them feed it to your other fish, but just because most two-headed fish die doesn't mean ALL of them will (theres probably a good chance it will but what the heck, why not try?). I don't think it would take more then a few minutes to hand feed it if it does survive, anyways. Its not like its going to be a pain to keep it.

or you could eat it. I mean seriously it may taste good. If your not going to let it live or at least try to live Id eat it. Let it become one with YOU.

Never heard of anything so daft, it could have desease.

sounds like he has done it before

my LFs had a 3- inch two headed fish for a while. i think it may have been a black moor goldfish. either way it was pretty wierd and i ony saw it once.

I would totally try to raise it!! It's very interesting... imagine how neat it would be all grown up!

I'd keep it aliv, chances are that it/they will learn to swim normally, if you can keep it alive, animals are very adaptive, and I could easily see you making a few hundred dollars sellingit at 1" more if its bigger.

i dont see why you guys are acting like its a monster. i dont see people killing 2 headed snakes. in fact, people try their hardest to keep 2 headed snakes alive. animals can pretty much adapt to everything

Well, after it dies, I'd pickle it in a coctail cherry jar. That would make a good convo. piece.

That is pretty weird but cool too!

I know that mutations can develop for a couple of reasons - either because there is some sort of illness or other external factor (eg radiation, pollution etc) that causes it or because the mutation would be better capable of surviving.

So, maybe there's a call for 2 headed fish in your tank!

Seriously though, I would give it a chance to survive as there's no reason why it can't learn to swim in a slightly different way to normal. Just because it has a 'disability' doesn't mean it can't adapt to that, plenty of people and animals manage to live with one.

If it weakens and / or seems to be in pain, the chiclids get it!
:/
