Twigs/sticks In Tank?

If you got a polystyrene ball then you could create quite a course surface for the moss to attach too. Not sure if polystyrene is safe in a tank so you may want to double check that.

If you go with a pingpong ball then I'm pretty sure the moss will never attach, but it will attach to the hair net which is attached to the ball. Buy a nylon hair net and it shouldn't decompose

I've used old weathered pine twigs without any issues. I prefer to use pine because it is easy to fine. I find a LARGE pine tree, go to the base and it usually has a bunch of old dead branches still attached.

Get a ping pong ball paint it green with latex paint, sand the painted finish slightly with coarse sand paper, get the moss and stick with superglue onto the ping pong ball then place a hairnet over and seal up with super glue or fishing line, finally wrap some fishing line round one of the loops in the hairnet and then use this to anchor to a stone or ornament preferably sticking with superglue so that the knotted line doesn't slip.

Pine contains a higher resin content which is toxic to fish and will turn the water alkaline in the long term....

pine is bad and its a soft wood too and it will rot alot quicker stick to the hard woods they take forever to rot in water and they dont leech resins sap as much they do leech tannins but thats easily remedied with boiling and soaking or a couple of tetra carbon bags these have workede an absolute treat on my mates tank it went nearly fully clear (not brown) in 1 day with them

Thanks everyone. My mopani wood is going in the tank now, hasnt leached anything over night in the bath so ill throw it in, if it leaches then so be it. It benefits the fish if i read correctly.

Ping pong ball idea is going to be tried. However not willing to put paint in the tank lol. SO gona try the hairnet.
