Hiya Guys & Girls,

It's been a while since I posted here... But I'm in a bit of a pickle and could use some suggestions! :)

I've got a 15 gallon "long" tank. It's overfiltered, planted, and well cared for. I've got a group of glowlight tetras, a group of corydoras, and a group of otos in the tank. Everyone is pretty well established, and I haven't had any major issues lately.

Here's the problem:
I wanted a centerpiece for the tank.
Looking for something pretty, larger than the glowlights, but still adult-size small enough to live in the 15 gallon for its entire lifespan.

Dwarf Gourami/Gourami in general in my area are more trouble than they're worth. The stores in my area get horrible stock when it comes to Gourami, and the fish never seem to live more than a few weeks.

Any suggestions, other than Gourami, of something that'd work in the tank?. I considered a betta, but I'd rather not risk their fins (I'd prefer to keep them alone, rather than in a community...)

A pair of Apistos or Rams? :) an Electric Blue pair of rams would be great IMO.

With three schooling group fish in a 60l tank you are already heavily overstocked, if each group has at least six specimens.

If you wanted a "centre piece" you should have chosen one social group fish and then chosen a compatable singleton.

Anything more than 30cm of adult fish is going to create a lot of nitrates, beyond the scope of being checked by weekly 50% water changes, they will build up over time and once they exceed ~300mg/l the trouble starts (read death).
