Can anyone help identify a species of "krib" i found my local TFH being sold as tomassi kribs - cant seem to find anything on them

they look physically similar to the normal Kribensis, but are silvery white in colour with vertical black bands.

Apparently cave breeders etc - similar to the common Krib

I didn't notice you posted this twice. Your local store had a little mis-spelling I think. Anomalochromis thomasi is what you are probably looking for.

Yeah, after looking that up I would agree!

Im going to get a pair this weekend, am I asking for trouble if I put them in my 36" tank with a pair of common Krib? Im in the process of setting up and maturing a larger tank which is where the Anomalochromis will end up, but theyre rarely seen around these parts and I dont want to lose an opportunity.

Cheers again :)

hey there.....

i have 2 pairs of mated thomasi, and 1 krib in a 36x12x18 tank.

the only problem is that the tank bottom is pretty much no-go....for the krib, but as soon as i find a male there will be a pair.....

id go for it....

to sex them -- males will be a LOT blacker, with the stripes virtually merging into a single patch...

good luck, they are beautiful little fish......
