Fish Herder
as it stands at the moment, VT betta are not recoginses as a quality or standerdised tail type by fish clubs, and as a result there is no serious demand for VT betta. Due to this low demand and non-serious aproach to them from comercial breeders, thousands live out patetic short lives, maltrated and un cared for.
perhaps if the VT was once more recognised and standardised as a show quality breed, its popularuty would gain and perhaps a new, more serious demand would be established. i could see this also leading to a wider variety of tails being seen in pet stores, as the VT would be just as valuble. it may enourage breeders to improve VT starins and work on producing quality specamins rather than just producing on mass for pet stores.
would people on here (and other forums) be prepared to campaign to the cubs, shows and organisations, to standardise and recognise the VT betta as a show quality fish??
