Hi. I have 3 outside cats, who during the summer usually end up with a few ticks on them. we usually remove them and throw them in the sink, and then put tick repellents on the cats and find out a month later if it actually worked, but i was wondering if i could feed these ticks to my fish, without the ticks attacking the fish. i have 2 huge panda barbs, 3 giant danios and 2 angels and a cory that may be interested in ticks. any ideas?

I'm no expert but i would simply not take the risk.

Keith.

They wouldnt be able to live underwater as they breath air - however they may have diseases etc so I wouldnt bother.

Hmm i think on of the main questions is whether the fish will eat them or not. They're not really a natural part of fishes diet, you will have a lot more luck feeding them critters like mosquito larvae & bloodworms (which they LOVE!). You should always be very careful with tics though as they can carry a horrible disease called Lyme Disease which can infect people;

yeah i knew about lyme disease, but could it effect the fish is my question. i guess thats kinda already been answered
