This Bottle Of Ammonia

rite i added a really small amount. i couldnt measure it with my pipette it looked like 0.25 ish

the reading looks like 3ppm

i think the easist thing to do will be tomorrow when i fill the tank with water to the full 240l then gradually add some and meaure it at each stage. then record how much i have put in and when i get 5ppm look at how much i have put in then use that each time. then somehow work out the % of ammonia in the bottle
Or, you now know that half of the amount gets you to 3.

So, instead of .5ml, it is .25ml.

So now you can add half have what you are suppose to, to your tank.

Hopefully that made sense?

Anyways, you are looking at about 15-17% of ammonia.

I can work it out though for ya in a little while to give you a more accurate answer.

With the findings that you have posted it would be the logical solution. I would add 6ml leave for 30 mins as that is a lot of water to dilute into, then test and add any additional amount that may be needed

ok cheers, well im still waiting for aqua essentials to deliver the tropica so will have to wait till that comes, should be in the next few hours

ok i just had a look on the internet and found another forum where some guy said it was 9%, i will have an experiment with it

It doesn't matter what percentage it is as you have now developed your own dosing system and measurement....

I’d just be sure to check that the solution in the bottle contains Ammonia and Ammonia only- there may be other additives, de-scalants etc

Hi, I used a 9.5% in freshwater in a 260L and the calc stated 13.something ml, it gave a good 5ppm measurement - so you must have a strong bottle!

Anyway good luck.

Paul.
