Thinking Of Swapping Around?!

Right then, here goes. Thinking of swapping a few fish around. I currently have a 30 litre fry tank which is housing 10 Swordtail Juveniles and about 15 Ellioti Juveniles. These are currently for sale. I have a 90 litre with a breeding pair of Rainbow Cichlids in, with about 100 or so 4 day old fry. Also have a 125 litre with 6 angels, 3 bronze cory's and 4 BN's. (Also about 7 - 8 Apple Snails) And then in the 180 litre tank i have an Ellioti, 2 large Angels, one L001 plec, 2 Jade Eyed Cichlids, 2 Juvenile Jewel Cichlids that are for sale and a breeding pair of HRP's with about 100 5 day old fry. The HRP's and fry are currently divided off from everything else in the tank.

Just wondering what would be your suggestions for moving stock around so i could house all the fry together and in which tank should i put them?

I'd say put the fry in the smallest tank and if it comes to it maybe a small juvenile if there is nowhere else, but definetly get the fry moved away from hungry mouths

Both sets of fry are away from other fish, but still with mum and dad. I am thinking that 200 fry (although tiny) may be a bit too much for a 30 litre tank? If not then i will put them in there, or at least as many as i can catch. I guess it would make feeding easier too if they were all the same size in the same tank.

oh dear, i think 200 fry may just be a little bit too many for a 30 litre lol!

Yes feeding woulsd be easier and they would grow quicker to some extent.

And remember, some will die off anyway so you will probably end up with about 150-175 fry instead of 200.

Natural selection is there for a reason!

I think i have noticed the rainbows dwindle, but the HRP's certainly haven't. lol. Ideally would like to move the rainbows to another tank and leave the 90 for all the fry. But unsure of which tank to put them into...
