Thermometer Mystery

So i have an effective, accurate thermometer in my tank, but because it is second hand, there is also one of those sticker thermometers. Its like a black strip with numbers on it, but I have no idea how to read it. It never changes colors, i dont know if its supposed to. How does this thing work? Or how is it SUPPOSED to work

I had one on mine but when I tried to rip it off only half came off so now I've got a big black strip, that's sticky and ugly. It didn't work for me either. Just don't pull it off scrape it off. I'm gonna scrape it if I wanna take the while thing off.

It's supposed to change colours. My guess is it's not working any more, either that or the temperature is super stable! There's usually one or two colours lit up next to the appropriate number for the temperature.

I had one of those too.. They are a right pain to get off, I had to scrape it off with a knife, then use methylated spirits to get rid of the sticky stuff that will be there.

You could try soften it up with a hair dryer just wach your seams
