Shrimps -

If you mix varieties of cherry shrimp even of the same colour you'll end up with all low grade with maybe the odd high grade/rili. That's not a problem for keeping them as pets but could affect possible sales.


I've not been away for more than a weekend since I've had shrimps. But you could leave the tank lights on longer before going away to get more algae growing, or use the stone in a container of water on a sunny window ledge method of growing algae before leaving.

So they feed on algae? I have algae wafers that I can soak and break into particles.
 
I asked on here about the best food for shrimps, and I bought Dennerle Shrimp King Complete.


Cherry shrimps do eat algae. But they need more than that to be healthy. Growing algae on a rock is just an easy way to feed them while on holiday.
