ive only got the 180 ruskull im not a big fan of bettas either tbh.


they had the bettas scattered everywhere. even 1 in a cichlid tank... under "assorted american cichlids" looool

I hear ya, hopefully someone saves the poor guy. I hate going to the pet store and seeing all the Bettas in tiny little cups where they barely have room to move at all. I'm sure they don't change the water for them either.............even the specialty fish shops have these travesty tanks, I don't get it.

The shop I go to has bettas each in their own tank. They're not huge tanks but at least well-filtered and clean and somewhat allow the fish to swim. They're on their own too.
I didn't check to see if they had females, wish I could have a sorority tank. Too bad there's no way to keep a breeding colony of bettas like with guppies or swordies... -.-

There was this mall pet shot that was totally the opposite of my favorite shop. It had bettas in small cups and then they got rid of the cups and I saw a betta cut in half over the sink... but they had only one more betta on sale, which was kept in a bowl.

I get all my fish from there. Same with plants. And while my java fern had one black leaf and most with scratches, it was nowhere near the crappy quality that mall had. Their plants were torn to pieces or rotten or had the furriest black beard algae a valisneria could have.

Hey Lovelies!
I'm pondering whether or not to enter Tzuppy in FOTM contest.
The pic I have of him is about 1-2 weeks old, but I can add a date + FOTM entry text in a new pic with the fish today. Would that count? Also, I can't take good pics with a phone cam... -.- But I'd enter for the lulz.
Because this headstand pic is pretty funny.

Or do I have to post for FOTM entry in august later on?
EDIT: scratch that, I read the rules, still time till 14th July.

It got smaller, not fully healed yet though. It is now smaller than his nostrils.

Like I said, it's just for fun, not up for winning. Just can't catch that moment again even if someone would lend me a cam (though I don't know anyone with a good camera).

I just returned from reading through that Gar thread, let me just say they're all lucky it's locked or I'd have gone off on them and been perma banned for life from this site!

We can't blame them though, their laws castrated them long ago. They don't know what they're missing which in my most humble opinion is a very basic human right to defend one's family and one's self. "When Seconds Count, The Police Are Only Minutes Away"

...........and Bowhunting is much harder and gives "the hunted" a better chance evening the odds a bit so to speak. I don't hunt but I have no problem with hunters as long as they eat what they kill or donate it to someone who will. We as humans are hunter gatherers after all.

Anyhoo, guppy time was well and truly spoiled by my daughter. Can I have nutella on toast? What about my hot milk? I'm in the other room now with no tanks and hubby watching cr@# on the telly.
Sigh.

in the shop i went to today they had a betta in with some xray tetra it literally had no fins left.

the staff didnt even care when my mum mentioned it to them. she has no clue about fish types or computability and even she noticed it.

I hate when I see stuff like that. Maybe you could purchase the Betta?

It's raining non-stop here Lovelies. We're all going crazy. One of my gouramis died today, I have no idea why. Meanwhile in my other tank I'm trying to save an ailing Ram.
Incidently, what's the difference between a bolivian and german blue ram? I wikied them but both look like my fella.
Hubby's steak pie and fried spuds for dinner today. I've an awful hankering for choc but I'll wait 'til guppy time.

Hey Fintastic! It's my fault, my warped sense of humor doesn't translate well in posts on the internet..........I feel I can diss Brits because I'm a Brit by descent, Scottish to be exact. I'm also German & we're not known for our humor let's just say.

It's always a sad day when one of our fish dies, especially Gouramis since they're my favorite. What kind was he/she?

It's actually pretty easy to tell German & Bolivian Rams apart, Germans are smaller & a bit more colorful usually. One of my Bolivians is about 3 inches long!

I would've preferred the GBR over the BR but the Bolivians are much hardier & they don't require the high temps that the GBR's prefer.

i was doing guppy time last night when I noticed that I had a fry or two in the sump.. I was meaning to get them out, but let's say I was too enthusiastic in my pre-guppy time festivities that I totally forgot to get them last night..

now fast forward to today.. here I am getting ready for guppy time and guess what I juss remembered.. I hope they're ok..
