Hey lovelies!

I got 2 more cherry barbs today! 1 male and 1 female. The male is berry and the female is cherry to go along with my existing male, razz, and my existing female strawberry. I'll eventually up them to 6. These 2 are in my qt now. Hope they survive while I'm on vacation

Also not really sure what to do as the 2 I have now are about 6 years old (according to previous owner they were 5 1/2 when I got them. Now around 6) so they only have about a year to leave max. I've already been noticing an activity level change. The ones I got today are around a year old.

Awesome fish, I love my Cherrys. No other fish is as red as the males.....looks great against all the green of the plants. Easiest fish to count for that reason.

I got that steak on my stove top coming up to room tempatoo.. I cannot wait to eat it.. Presently munching on tasty cakes.. Hope I don't roon my appetite, or so I has heard..

Also slamming beers.. Looking at the clouds whilst grilling my steak tonight should be a hoot i tells ya..

I only have 2 brews left, I'm slowly nursing them.

Hey Lovelies!!!


To say the steak was grilled perfection would do the steak I made tonight an injustice... it was so good..

Interesting side note, the tasty cakes did not roon my appetite, in fact I think hasing four or five tasty cakes before my steak made it that much more of an enjoyable experience..

Now... enough tomfoolery.. I am going to go downstairs and watch my apple snails poo for Barrack Obammer..

Are these breeding stripes or stress stripes or what?

Seems like they are just mood stripes, from interacting with other fish. Not sure.

They are more like mood stripes. My Rams stripes are darker when they are more content and paler when they're being dominated or they're just unhappy.

Interesting note: My Opaline is the exact opposite. She looks kinda plain when she's happy but when I do a water change she turns all camoflage with darker patterns.

Are these breeding stripes or stress stripes or what?

dark stripes on Bolivians can indeed indicate stress - when in breeding mode those dark bars almost vanish completely, replaced witha nice yellow/orange belly and a predominatly silver/white body.

Ok thanks. They've now disappeared, but it seemed more like they were being dominated by my Molly so the stripes appeared. That may have been stressful though.....

I'm watching that fry that was grown in the tank joining his siblings. He's no longer treated as food now and is almost as big as the ninja brothers. Speedy growth, lol.

Hey Lovelies! Eris finally gave birth. I saved 3 fry I liked: a pink one, one that looks like Eris (1/3rd orange 2/3rd black) and one that is half black half white. The black/white one is looooong I hope it's a lyretail.
Rest are on their own.

Also, Tzuppy went back to guard duty.
