The Fish I Saw At My Lfs

its more than likely acyrlic if its got rounded corners, just be careful you dont get an algae magnet with a blade as it may scratch.

if you want a few plants, your lighting specs would be helpful and if you have any special substrate.

i did a topic in the planted aquariums bit, my bulb is a flourecent 15watt and im using eco-complete sand.

no worries mate glad to help you out, use this site for finding low light species heres a link.

could you give me another peice of info, what is the diameter of the tube? would you say about an inch? or just over half an inch?

if there an inch there T8's
if there just over an inch there T5's (the better ones)

if there T8's your looking at these:

and if youve got T5's your looking at the above and these:

to be honest the tank is not the best in the world, the lights are the ones which bend around, look like energy saving bulbs if you know what i mean

ok mate, with the eco-complete giving the plants the nutrients they need, will I not need anything else to keep the plants alive????

yes CO2 will be benificial, one of these kits will be good enough for your tank.

but ditch the tablets that come with it and use this recipe:

but be sure to read the hole first page. because if you live in a soft water area a stabilizer needs to be used (baking soda)

EDIT*

you will need to dose ferts too, i reccomend TPN+ if your in the UK, as i was recommended it by aaron.

do i really need that much equipment for 4 or 5 plants in a small tank????, Where does the pipe go?

the pipe along with the buble ladder just sticks to the back (or where you feel appropriate) of the aquarium, its really easy and a worthwhile investment.

CO2 is not compulsary with your lighting, but you will notice a difference

this mite sound like a silly question, but what will the difference be? I guess its nots that much money to get one, I just dont want to keep putting items in my fish tank when its really small anyway lol

its very beneficial because growth and sustainability of the plants are increased by 20% and it will hold of unsightly algae, which i think is good ;) and its not expensive to run.

does it look neet in the tank or is there pipes everywere? I think i will buy one next week, I ordered alot of stuff from that website the other week but they dont deliver till next monday, so i will wait until deliverys start again to order one.

you wont see it if you hide it, but you could always swap the ladder for one of these, but make sure its next to your filter outlet or has a long way to travel to the surface otherwise your better off sticking with the ladder.

but sometimes there isnt enough pressure to force the bubbles through the diffuser and the ladders are meant to be more efficient.
