The Conversion Has Begun...

Its up to you I would go with the mbuna looks like you have Pseudotropheus elongatus mpanga there blue and black stripe yellow tail keep them keep the socolofi as you say they are but check metriaclima callainos to see if it could be them and jsut try to stick to adding mbuna.

Ok, thanks Mark :good:

So it's the two red ones and the yellow with the same body shape?

Sorry for the noob talk, I'm crap with names

Thanks again,

Maximus

if you post pics of all your fish we will tell you which are mbuna and which are not

These we in the same bag. Theres 2 red somethings lmao, and a yellow one with the exact same body shape, if that
helps at all... Oh and the yellow fella only had one eye (completely healed) but I thought that
gave him character lol

This fella was in the same tank as above^. But dont let the long head confuse you, he was yawning lol

Geth rid of these and keep the others looks like you have Elongatus mpanga, either socolofi / callainos and cant see the 2 that follow each other around clearly enough.

Thanks again Mark :good:

These were the 4 I intended to trade in

Should I make up the numbers of any of the others?

As theres only 2 of each really -_-

I suppose I'll do a straight swap, so I have 4 fish to play with here :S

Along side these four (making 9 so far) I'll probably be snatching another 4-5.

These will probably be the same as whats in there; to make 4 of most.

Does this sound right?

Looks like you've got 3 Aulonocara and 1 Elongatus Mpanga from those pics, possibly an Obliqudens aswell. Am i missing something - i don't see any pics of Socolofi?

He only mentioned socolofi but mentioned could not see a black stripe thats why I said they could be callainos

Hey there Ferris B)

I mentioned that I had another two, powder blue, very common ones too,
But didnt bother with a photo because I knew they were fine :good:

Just googled socolofi and thats them

Anything to add to my "making up the numbers" mission? :fun:

Thanks again,

Maximus

EDIT: Just googled callainos and wouldn't mind a few of them either :p

ok, thanks :good:

Hmm, just googled metriaclima callainos and they look like them instead.
Its the lack of a black stripe that gets me.

Theres two of them, http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&am...sa=N&tab=wi

One looks like the first pic on the left, with faint stripes.

Wheras the second one looks like the 5th pic from the left, with no stripes at all.

Is this male and female?

Thanks again mate,

Maximus

Wow, they do look Impressive :hyper:

What will I have to do to make this work then?

already the three are hiding under the rockwork :/

Maximus

Just trying to get some photos for an ID now,
Bear with me

Maximus

You'll need more rockwork with more height to it - at the moment the top 2 3rds of the tank is just open water - not really ideal for Mbuna or Peacocks.

The more hiding places the better - it doesn't mean the fish will hide all the time - it simply gives them a safe place to retreat to when necessary. :good:
