Ok so a while ago...I believe it was, well, I can't remember the name mnxfshy? Something like that. Newho they loved the color purple and wanted to know what purple fish he could put in his purple bedroom themed aquarium. I don't recall the replies but there wasn't many that knew of anything.

Bear with me as I am doing this via blackberry.

The last few days I've started to notice the beauty of my 20 gallon planted community. The yellow, purple, teal, gold, red and white really come out in front of the bright grean amazons. Many variations come with the 4 female bettas. Red and gold from the WCs really look stunning on the black background. Yellow from the guppies.

Can anyone name good solid colors their fish might have? Bright colors look amazing with real plants and a list to see what species and colors can go together. Cool thanks

Rummy nosed tetras
german blue rams
endlers
Gertrudae's rainbow
Chili Rasbora
cherry shrimp
white clouds

IMO all these fish look really nice in planted tanks and have good color.

The pink belly on a female krib is impressive.

A shoal of Cardinals or neons look nice in a planted tank.

Of course if you want to go down the cichlid route, then the colours are endless.

boesmans rainbow fish

It's only a 20gal tank hun, for those boesemani's to really colour up they need to be at least 3-4" full grown so that's a no go, but however the smaller rainbows are nice in planted, though they aren't solid colours as the op wants.

How about dwarf neon blue gourami, red robin or honey gourami, as you get striking blues, reds and yellows from them.

Harlequin rasboras, indeed any rasboras display amazing colours, pinks, blues, oranges, reds.

Gold danios are peachy and very nice colouration. As are lots of the small tetras - lemon, rummynose, those with the neon stripes [glowlight, cardinal, etc.] and as mentioned cherry shrimp but also if you can get hold of other colours, the yellow fire, blues and green shrimp would be a colourful addition.

Then the only other idea I have is the dwarf cichlids, the rams, kribs and apistogrammas of which there are loads.
