As above "own brand play sand" £2.50 for 10Kg I don't know how that compares to other outlets, just an informative post

I don't recommend Tesco playsand.  I used it when I first set up my tank a year ago (because I buy it for my kids sandpit anyway) and I found it to be VERY fine and tightly compacting.

To be fair, I've never tried Argos playsand so I can't compare them directly, but I assume from other positive reports that Argos playsand is slightly coarser and more suitable.

Surely play sand is for making sand castles not putting in fish tanks Daize!

1st time I've seen the stuff in my local Tesco Extra store and after a bit of a look about think Argos is still cheaper

Yep they get it in store seasonally around this time of year, they've been selling it for years though!

And yeah it's great for sandcastles :p

I use tesco playsand for my hamster to roll around in as it is softer than regular pit sand and I have Argos sand in my tank :) can't fault it... was cheap and my cories love ir

Yea ive noticed my argos play sand gets VERy hard, but if you move it around its like sink sand.
