Terracotta Rings On Plant Base...

I just bought 3 plants,and they all have terracotta rings around the base of the plant,are these safe to put in the tank?
And will they affect stats ie ph?

they will be fine and no different to a plant pot many people have in their tanks.

Thought i would try some live plants and was a bit worried over whether to use the rings,but if they're ok,thats brill

Make sure they are safe... my betta got his head stuck in one of these and If I hadn't found him he would have drowned. He was stuck so good I had to push him out backwards. Still has the scar on his head where the pot tore his scales off, even 6 months later.

They are safe to use in aquariums, but you should take them off anyway and plant them properly .

Once you take them off you can keep them in the tank if you like the look of them.

Yup, a properly planted plant will have nothing around its roots.

I'm planning on moving stuff around in the tank when i get time,so i just wanted to leave them in the rings for the time being,i don't want to re plant twice

Good idea. Just remember Plants do not like changes, especially in water parameters. So, try to get them in their right place as soon as you can.
