I noticed this white band around one of my shrimp a few days ago. A Google search said it was the "white ring of death" and was usually fatal. It's been a few days now and the shrimp seems fine. Pic 1 taken 3 days ago, and pics 2 and 3 taken today. In the pic 3 angle with its back slightly arched, the line is barely visible. Can a shrimp still molt with this ring showing, or does it spell doom?

Parameters:
pH 7.6
KH 143.2 ppm
GH 214.8 ppm

I only kept shrimp for a short time, maybe a year and a half. I would say the first two images are the WROD but, when I was raising them some would have this condition but still molt OK, though I did have a least a few die from poor molts as well.

I had the same experience.

OK, thanks for the replies. Will just have to wait and see if she (?) survives. I check for molts every day anyway because of a recent SJ outbreak, so I'll know one way or another.
