Stupid me decided I wasn't happy with the look of my 225, just not enough going. So I decided to take down 1 of the mountains down and replace it with a large piece of driftwood. Of course it floated.
Long story short, tried a bunch of methods and completely destroyed all the plants and the whole layout. Water is pitch black now.

I now have most of the fish in 2 large plastic containers, about 50 Gallons each. I have placed the media in the container bottoms and I've placed air bubblers in each.

Issue right now is I can't locate my sponge filters, Can I just leave the setup the way it is and just do 50% water changes per day? I will probably need 3 days to fix the mess.

Will that be fine?

Thank you

why don't you just remove the driftwood and do a couple of big water changes on the tank?

then soak the driftwood in a plastic storage container until it sinks and then try again.
