Tap Water Ammonia 0.50Ppm

guys is it normal for ammonia to be this high in tap water or do i have a bad api test kit.

Mine is the same (0.50ppm) level as yours.

you could try contacting your local water company and asking them why there are readings like that for ammonia. Not sure I'd want to drink water with ammonia in it let alone force my fish to swim in it

It depends on the tap, most levels are around zero. But many suppliers have ammonia in there tap. I believe one of our respected members on this forum has 1.00ppm of ammonia
