Hi everyone,

i was wondering if a normal piece of furniture would be able to support a 20 litre aquarium. The furniture is made from pine and the place where the aquarium would go has 4 draws underneath it - don't know if this makes any difference! do

also would 2 otos and 1 male betta be ok (space wise) in a 20 litre.

thanks

nothing lightweight about me ;)

well if it holds a person ( which you would hope for) then the tank will be fine

EDITED to lmao @nelly

20 liters will only be about 50 pounds. If it'll hold a decent sized TV it should hold a tank.

and how many blokes are going to try their precious tv`s on a suspect bit of furniture ... get a few bricks ( on top of a towel of course)

A 20 L. tank at 50 lbs. should be fine (10 gallons is the maximum size tank that should be placed on regular sturdy furniture). The only caution that I would make with the drawers is...if you allow enough water to spill into the drawer areas , over time some warping could occur making it more difficult to open and close them.

Individual personalities of Bettas do vary...so keep an eye on how it reacts to the otos. Although oto's would be prefer to be in a larger group, it's a possibly that a 5 gallon isn't produce enough food for even two of them so be prepared to do some diet supplementation. (Or get some clean rocks in a clean bucket with dechlorinated water and plastic over the top and place in the sun for your own algae farm! ~_^ )

I was coming from an educational point of view, afterall, we want the OP to make sure the cabinet in question is strong enough!

:P
