Tank Upgrade Recommendations?

I'm looking to upgrade my tank to something more substantial.

At the moment I have a 110L, but am looking for something much bigger. Any suggestions on what tanks are good?? Brands etc?

At the moment i'm looking at the Fluval Profile 1200:

This is 323ltrs. Was looking for anything up to 500...any suggestions please?

I would reccommend checking out ebay. You can get excellent deals for good tanks on there!!!

I looked at the 1500...not sure if it's deemed pricey for what it is. You seem to get everything with it. I like the fact that the filters are all contained and they come through the bottom of the tank etc on the Profile series.

Weez - Sceptical about ebay as you never know what you're buying sometimes. Ideally i'd like to go have a look at a tank before I'm going to invest a few 100 on one...not always possible on ebay. Unless they're local.

Do people generally go between Fluval and Jewel? Probably the names i've been boasted about on the forum.

Thats fair enough! I have bought 2 tanks on ebay, both fine. Both people advertised you could go see it before buying so most people would!
I have had 2 tanks made by Hagen and both were excellent, would reccommend any they make!

They have just been private sellers I have used. I don't go for ones with limited descriptions I mainly go for the peope who sound like they know what they are talking about. I have a search in my area saved on ebay and constantly checked it when I was waiting to see a bigger tank available in my area! haha

I'll take a look around see what I can find. After something with a decent build quality...as I said, people generally seem to go for the top brands on this forum from what I've read...not to say the others might be "inferior" but...hey. Part of the fun of looking I guess.

Depending on your budget and if you are in the UK ND aquatics they build nice tanks and they lots of great options:

Currently I have Juwel tanks I do like there bowed front's of course these sorts of tanks are a personal preference and not for everyone. I take the internal filters out and fit external filters.

Anything you don't build yourself or buy second hand will be pricey but the bigger the tank, the better, usually!

I've purchased all my tanks on ebay. You will find most people can't take them when they move house. I always search for local advertisers and then can go and have a look. Most of the time if they see that you are interested they offer it to you there and then. My first tank was even delivered for free and the threw in a heater, filter, gravel etc. It was all brand new and I paid less for it than their fuel would have cost delivering it to me!!!! Also check out freeads & preloved
