Tank Size Required

currently i have a healthy 65g cichlid aquarium.

thinking of going big in the future.

was wondering what size\dimensions tank i would need for.
2 or possibly 3 arowanas.
2 Ornate Bichirs.
3 blue parrot fish.
6 king kong parrot fish and.
2 stingwrays.

Welcome to the forum!

For a tank with that many Arowana and Stingrays your going to need something monster big. Were talking atleast 3ft deep ideally, yet alone length and height. Stingrays really aught to be kept in tanks with a big footprint, and arowana's are in the same catagory ideally.

Have you a budget, or area your thinking of putting one, because its going to cost ££££'s and have to be huge.

i definately have enough space and no budget. ive done my research so i no it needs descent filteration ectect. just not to sure on tank sizing :\ + i will be getting the tank made to measure but i suppose i could do away with the wrays or maybe just the one if that would make a big difference in size?

It won't make much of a difference in size to be fair getting rid of one of the rays. You still need a huge footprint to cater for just the one. Even the small rays hit 18", thats not including the tail with some rays classed as 'small'. To be perfectly fair, if money is no issue, and space is again not an issue i don't know why your here asking - go as big as you can go! Have a nosy at T1KARMANN's 1000 US Gallon Tank for inspiration on tank size for rays and what-not.

The simple fact is, the bigger the better. That much you surely already know, with equally massive filtration in comparison to go with it. As for suggesting a size, i really don't know. But minimum i would say would be 8'x3'x2' (LxDxH) for what you would like to keep, more than likely bigger IMO.

thanks. thats given me a better idea of what i might need. even tho space ect isnt a problem, i just dont want it to look overly big for the stock in the tank.

If the tank is (somehow) too big, thats why you get a massive envious group of something we can all only hope one day win the lottery and be able to afford and accomodate! Hahaha

5000 gallons imo aowanans 3 feet max size
