Tank Lights Gone! Advice Please

My jewel light unit seems faulty and I don't know how to repair or fix electronics and buying a new unit is last resort as I'm struggling money wise being 15 and they're up to 150 so please help. I turn the light on fine it all works exactly as it should for about 10 mins before they flicker and cut out, they then need to be left for a couple of mins before they will go on again. Any tips and adivice welcome

Check both the bulbs, this can happen when one of the bulbs is gone. They still light up but do not stay on for long. Have a look to see if there is a blackened ring near to the end of the tube, this will sometimes tell you that the bulb is gone. Get a new tube. 
 
If a new tube does not cure the problem you will need a new balast (which can be a bit of a pig to change I have never attempted it) or a total new light unit.
 
What juwel tank is it BTW

There's an old thread in the equipment section somewhere about changing out Juwel ballasts if it turns out to not be the bulbs.
