Tank Big Enough?

Hey, Blood parrots have always been a fish I would LOVE to keep. Im just wondering whats the min tank size for 2 blood parrots? I have an empty 48"x18"x12" (LxHxW)its about a 45 US gallon tank. Is that to small?

Water volume wise I reckon you could probably keep one. But for a fish that is bulky and can easily grow to 8" I don't reckon the dimensions are suitable.

You should look into other true cichlids. Apart from anything else parrots often have health issues, if it were me I wouldn't feel comfortable buying them and 'supporting' them being bred.

I would say you could house one in there. Make sure you have lots of filteration because they are messy fish.
