All shots taken with filters turned off for a few minutes, i find it easier to get pictures this way sometimes.

If you think the sex or ID of any fish is incorrect please state so, i am labelling them as i bought them or inherited them of previous owners

As some maybe aware, i have a few Tanginyikan's in my "Malawi set-up", although it remains about 90% Mbuna.

Red Top Hongi Juvenile (Labidochromis Hongi)

Red Top Hongi in middle, Blue Cobalt juveniles (as sold to me either side) but not sure if these are just Pseudotropheus Zebra or Metriaclima Callainos?

And again

Metriaclima Greshakei, or is it supposed to be Maylandia Greshaki? He is showing his breeding colours in these pictures, goes from a darker blue to the colour you see now and even paler (almost white sometimes), this can happen in the space of minutes and change throughout the day (his colour)

very nice mbuna tank there :) visually very impressive!

Lovely bright coloured fish, there so cute.
Are these the pics you were talking about fry lover.

I have never seen a tank with the slate bottom like that... It's very impressive and the fish look amazing!

thanks for posting peeps, i took some video clips tonight as well :hey:

finally got round to it, these are the first video clips i have ever taken of any tank!

Very nice pics and vids, I think the tank looks cool, the fish are all different colours so why not the rock.
:good:

Wow i'm jealous that a stunning tank and the fish and colours are beautiful.
Thats how fish tanks should look.
Well done fry lover.

This is what it was like before

It wasn't so much the mixed colour effect that was the problem, i quite liked it, although i know from different forums i use the feedback was mixed! I decided on a change as i was a fed up of seeing the filter out-lets and in-lets plus the internal at the side's of the tank, and by having a centre-peice "middle" stack of rocks that's what happened.

So i changed it so there is a big pile of ocean rock at the side's and lava rock in the middle. I still went with the slate look at the front of the tank, as i have found this a great place for fry to hide-out in, and i like the look anyway.

Here it is now

I should point out for those that don't know, there are a small number of "non malawi" fish as well.

Neolamprologus Meeli

This is my male Greshakei, if you watch carefully at the end of the clip, you will see him trying to entice a female into the cave, he's been doing that all evening, there are two female's in the set-up with him and they are quite prolific spawners in this tank. When he's spawning he's the most aggressive fish in the tank, but even then, no damage is usually done. The only fish he doesn't mess with ever, is my big male Red Zebra.

General clips

I am not quite sure of the ID of this young fish, any help?

Sold to me about 6-8 weeks ago as a Blue Cobalt, which it is not apparently.

Also in the clip you will see a young Red Top Hongi (very beginning of clip), a baby Acei (born in the tank) and also a hybrid Julie (born in the tank).

Here is my largest Acei (only about 3" mind you), but i am sure he is the father of un-told amounts of baby Acei in my tank. He rivals the Greshaki in being the most randy fish in the tank!

The song is the background does not reflect my feelings for this fish!

I can pretty much tell the Acei, Red Zebra and Fuelleborni fry when i see them, i was wondering if this fry was a Greshaki?

Except the fish listed the above, the other fish that may be responsible in the tank are various Pseudotropheus Zebra's, thoughts?

Very nice :good: Like it, fish and rocks! like the couple of tanganyikas, what r those a frontosa and a tretochphslus in there, very nice once again
