Swordtail New Fry

All factors that rely on metabolic rate are affected by the higher temperature including how long it takes a young fish to mature and how long the fish can expect to live. We don't get to make exceptions for characteristics we find positive such as life expectancy.

Good news, she gave birth again this morning. Unfortunately I didn't notice fast enough so I only managed to save 3. Even saw her eat 1 of them  No wonder why she's still fat.

More advice please. My Liquifry suggest a drop for every 4 litres of water which is about 10 drops 2-4 times a day. However I only have about 4 fry and I can also see the previous drops in there as the tank is bare bottomed.

Am I ok to just do 1 drop, 4-5 times a day as long as I can see there's surplus food left in there?

i use crushed up flakes and hikari and switch between the two with my guppies, so i wouldnt know about "liquifry". i do feel for you though, my babies are 10 days old and the day they were born my ghost shrimp had a feast on them, but the female was only kinda big. i only managed to rescue 12, 1 fell out of the breeder, and 2 died. it stinks!

livebearers don’t need Liquifry its is a waste of money/ crushed flakes is as good.
feed crushed flakes 2 -3 times a day as you have a bare bottom tank it will be easy to see and remove uneaten flake food.

Doesn't fry food have better nutrients for the fry to help them grow etc?

The liquifry is just laid as spots on my aquarium bottom, I want to siphon it out but I don't want to siphon the babies by mistake. Will the fry eventually eat it anyway?

fry food may have better nutrients to help them grow. as i say crushed flake food will be as good .
to siphon it of the bottom a good way is to use a Turkey Baster and if you siphon up one of the babies
by mistake it will be easy to release it back to the tank.

OK, thanks for the advice. I already have some Hikari First Bites so I'm going to swap between this and the Liquifry, feeding them 4 times a day.
