so I tried ordering these ( Limia Islai ) a couple times, during this last winter, going into one of my 10 gallon shrimp tanks ( these tanks are sitting sideways, so the small end is the front, and the length is now the depth of the tank… so, they are not meant for viewing ) it did not seem like the tigers were in the tank, I never saw them, again after adding them to the tank ( lots of plants, and structure ), so I assumed they didn’t survive the new tank… but I maintained the tank, and fed, as it’s full of cherry shrimp ( a lot of them ) tonight as I was turning off the main lights I saw grey movement.. the tank is now full of midsized ( maybe 20 or more ) limia fry… totally unexpected, as I never see any adults…

Sometimes extremely shy adults I start with produce fry that are relaxed and out there where I can see them. That 10 gallon just got very crowded...

@jaylach … since I can’t see the adults, they were maybe wild caught, and extremely afraid of the big ugly thing outside the box, pictures of my actual fish would be a challenge… the fry I’m seeing all over, are all about 1/2 inch long, and the tank is 6 inches off the floor, so bending over or laying on the floor in my work area behind the tanks are best for viewing… I’ll add some “representative” pictures… these are not actually mine… adults get about 1.5 inches long, and they are fast swimmers, and are a live bearer…

“found in Lake Miragoane, Haiti. They are a hardy livebearing species that thrive in a wide range of parameters in the aquarium. In the wild they are found in clear freshwater with vegetation and mud bottom.”

these look just like the tiger teddies I have in another tank, but about twice the size… if all these limia fry survive, looks like I’m in the fish breeding business… better get some sort of agreement made with the local pet store where I get frozen foods and feeders for my bichir…

I was just going to bait a net for the cherry shrimp, they are close to critical mass, I’ll need to add some to a bigger fish tank…

I saw my 1st adult Tiger Limia today… still tons of 1/2 to 3/4 inch fry in the tank, so I’ve been feeding for the fry, and today a large adult shot out from the back, to the front of the tank ( where the food is ), 3-4 times… way too quick to get a picture, but looks exactly like the 1st picture I attached above, and it is 2 - 2.5 inch’s long… so, maybe some day I’ll actually be able to at h the adults???

oh my…
so with mrs. being in the hospital ( she is home now ) I’ve been doubling up with chores, tonight I fed, while topping off my tanks, and I saw 6 to 8 full sized adult tiger limia… in fact one of the orders I got, last winter came in as jumbos, and came in larger than a lot of sites say they get ( many are 2 to 2.5 inches long… I honestly don’t know how they all can hide so effectively, as they totally disappear, when I’m by the tank, but I guess I know why there are so many babies in this tank… I’ll continue to try to get pictures…
