I'm tearing my reef tank down and going to use it for a planted tank. I'm excited about it, there are so many options. The only things I know will be in it are 2 Fluval canister filters, the light is a Fluval t5 four bulb with the brightest bulbs I can get. That's it that's all i know for sure except I am going to put my weather loach in there so he's not cramped in the 29gl anymore. He's my favorite fish.
I am going to do co2 injection so I can have any plant I want. There are so many options I can't make up my mind. I have to pick the substrate, plants, new driftwood, rock work, and new fish. Do I want to pick an oddball fish and stock around that, do I want 2 discus and a dramatic schooling fish with some corys and maybe a couple more weather loaches? I think I want some interesting inverts. Drawf Mexican crayfish, some unusual shrimps, and there is a true freshwater crab that I came across a while back that I might want to get. I am going to be taking my time with this one. I want dramatic and beautiful. I want peaceful but I don't just want what everyone does either.
Anyone have any ideas about oddballs suitable for a 55gl? Know oF oddball inverts fOr that size available in the states? Anyone have any great and dramatic 55gl tank pics that could give me some ideas? I have never had a tank that big for FW that I could do what ever I want with. If can't tell, I can't wait to get started!
