OK got my nan a fluval 4plus for her tank am i able to stick one of my filters in hers for a few days to get it started

Its going to be months before her filter has bacteria in it, even with yours keeping the water 'clean'. But in theory, yes, it will probably help (mostly in keeping her fish alive), but i would still expect to do some water changes and i would still be testing the water every 24 hours.

Is this the four foot with the ungergravel OP? If it is, scoop a bit of the gravel up and put in the Fluval; there should be enough space in the middle section with the biorock or whatever it's called. That should be enough to seed it.
