I’m watching it right now . The woman scientist who looked at the Martian blood sample is the gal who played the principal of Grant Avenue School in “ Leave It To Beaver “ .
Edit : I was wrong about the scientist but it sure looked like her . I goggled it after I wrote that . I don’t cheat and do it ahead of time . But , and this is a big but , Alvy Moore who played County Extension Agent Hank Kimble on Green Acres had a part in this classic of science fiction . I didn’t think Sven’s impersonation of Mr. Kimble was very good but he tried anyway .

And now Batman is on and The Penguin just pasted Commissioner Gordon and Chief O’Hara with a pie ala Three Stooges . That wacky Burgess Meredith ! What’ll he do next ?
And Vito Scotti who played the train engineer in “ Von Ryan’s Express “ , arguably the greatest war movie ever , is one of The Penguin’s henchmen .

Tonight on Svengoolie it’s the 1939 inspiration for Mel Brooks’ “ Young Frankenstein “ . “ Son of Frankenstein “ is a great movie , perhaps the best of all the Frankenstein variants . Lionel Atwill gives a command performance as Inspector Krogh , the character that Kenneth Mars did so well in the Mel Brooks version . You will see many similarities between the two movies . DON’T miss this !

Rosemary’s Baby is on tonight . I’ve never really watched it closely before and I’m still not crazy about the story but this movie is a classic film lovers treat . Filmed on location at the famed Dakota in New York City and a stellar cast including Ruth Gordon , who I loved in Harold and Maude , Elisha Cooke Jr. , John Cassavetes , Mia Farrow and Charles Grodin . Unbeknownst to me this is a William Castle film ! You have seen The House on Haunted Hill with Vincent Price haven’t you ? That’s Castle’s work . The detailed sets and the street scenes of NYC are a visual treat .
If you’re not watching right now then turn it on !

Fabulous film. Ruth Gordon won the Oscar for this one, her first after 50-plus years in the business--she made her first film in 1915. She brought the house down with her acceptance speech, "I cannot tell you how encouraging this is!"

As for the Dakota, many notables have lived there including John Lennon, Rudolph Nureyev, Judy Garland, Gilda Radner, etc. So did Leonard Bernstein. It figures prominently in Bradley Cooper's bio pic about him, MAESTRO. We visit friends there on occasion. It's an awesome if a bit creepy building. I always thought it was perfect that Boris Karloff lived there.

BTW, it was named the Dakota because when it was built in 1880 it stood all by itself on Central Park West and people mocked it for being so remote and isolated at the time.

On Svengoolie, tonight’s feature was Curse of the Demon… a highly rated horror movie from 1957. I missed the Svengoolie show tonight, but found the movie on tubi tv streaming app for free. I’m watching it now. It looks quite interesting.

I have a roku smart tv and launched the app called Tubi. . It is totally free. The movie is among hundreds of free movies or tv shows available. Do you have a amart tv? If you do, then you can watch it. The movie is quite good..
To see apps that have the movies I want to watch , i go to IMDB and enter the name of the movie or do a search for the movie on my smart tv. You really should learn how to use the streaming feature of a smart tv. Pluto is another streaming app with all free stuff such as movies and old tv shows.

I also watch tv via an antenna. Occasionally i will pay for a streaming app such as Paramount plus for $6 a month or Netflix for $8 a month. I dropped cable tv about 10 years ago and saved a boatload of money…like over $18,000…. Literally I saved enough money to buy a nice boat if I wanted one.

I have a Smart TV but it’s an older one and can’t do a lot of the stuff the newer ones can . I’m a PBS supporter and I get free PBS Passport but my TV won’t play it . I guess it’s time for a new TV .
Can you get “ Robinson Crusoe on Mars “ with your setup ? Jonny Quest and Fireball XL-5 would be cool too .

most smart tvs should be able to access pluto and tubi. If not, you could install a roku stick for about $40 into one of the usb ports if your tv has those… almost all tvs have USB ports. Then switch input via your remote to access the roku streaming stick.
Robinson caruso on mars can be seen for free on a smart tv streaming app zone-ify.

Almost any movie that has been made can be watched via streaming. Many are free but some can be watched for a small fee of about $4 or else may he part of a streaming service such as Netflix for like $8 for a month of access to all their content.

This is what you need to make your TV play streaming media if your present streaming platform does not have apps you want or is difficult to use. . Roku platform is the best one in my opinion.
