Suitable Fish For This Water?

My parents are thinking of buying a fish tank after seeing mine so I took my water testing kit down and got the following readings:

pH = 7.4-7.6
KH = 7*
GH = 12*

They haven't decided on a size of tank (yet) but what sort of fish would thrive in this water?

Usually the fish at the local fish shop to you can generally handle fluctuations with the ph,check with the shop at the time your there, fish like dwarf cichlid's and cardinal tetra's and other tetra's prefer lower ph like you have so your lucky, my ph is 8-8.5ph...

However until you know what size tank your getting it will be difficult to offer fish advice, you have community/south american cichlids and catfish,channa aka snakeheads and lots of different oddball's, have to know what type the would like, iam imaging parent's would just like a beautiful community style tank?

As nelly says, most fish from LFS will be in roughly the same ph water, yours is fairly normal range for most fish, apart from African Mbuna which prefer above 8.0ph, you can always ask the store where you buy the fish what their ph is and acclimatise properly to compensate for any difference.

As said most local LFS fish will have been adapted to your water already, and as for the size of tank, the biggest you have space and money for! ( getting one second hand makes things vastly cheaper )
