I am going way for a few weeks soon, and was wondering if it's okay to make up a supply of treated water in bottles so that the person looking after my fish tank can top up as and when. Would rather leave them treated water if possible, then risking them putting in plain tap water or overdosing.

Yes, that's fine to do for storing spare water. I've had to do the same many times when traveling and leaving my aquariums in others' care.

How long are you going to be away (if you want to share that)?

If it is just a few weeks, and they are only topping up, then they don't NEED to treat it.

With my water supply they would definitely need to treat it lol

Bottles of pre-treated are a good idea!

True Alasse, every water supply is different.

Thanks folks. Thought it may be okay, as I used to keep a saltwater tank and store water that way.
I treat the water though I'm pretty sure they don't add any thing to it. But better to be safe then sorry.
. I'm away for four weeks, and due to the temperature here the water evaporates quickly, and it would soon be below the level for the filter, which would run dry and burn out.
I'm in Cyprus by the way hence the rapid water loss.
