Stocking

Hi,
I Have a 200L tank and in it I have :

6 Flame Tetras,
6 Lemon Tetras,
2 Dwarf Gouramis,
4 Baby Swordtails,
4 Rummy Nose Tetras,
4 Black Neon Tetras,
1 Pleco,
2 Honey Gouramis,
1 Golden Algae Eater,
6 Glowlight Tetras,
4 Guppies,
4 Cardinal Tetras

I know the list seems huge but their all still small. Am I overstocked?

Well, your tank is 52 gall, and you have 83" of adult fish not including the plec and algae eater, so I'd say not time to be adding anything more really. What filter are you running?

i agree with ellena, also you have lots of small numbered groups of different species of fish. the bigger the number in each group will make the fish happier and more secure

not a dig but i would remove some species and up numbers of others

Hi,
Thanks for all the suggestions. The tank has been going (fully cycled) since March. All test results good.
The tank has an internal and External filter (juwel Internal and Eheim External).

I am giving away 2 of the baby swordtail, and the Honey Gouramis are going to another Tank.
Is that any better?

i would go for bigger groups of just 3 or 4 species like cardinals, black neons, rummy nose and lemon tetras. with these you should have lots of colour and movement.
what plec is it?
also golden algae eaters get very big and aggressive so i would remove him asap!
maybe swap the plec for a group of corys. much less bioload and much more fun and movement.
and maybe a centre piece fish like a pair of rams maybe.... a different gourami....

just my thoughts

The plec is a Leopard Cactus pleco (L114). I know that he will get very big but I don't want to get rid of him Yet. Thanks for the advice. I don't want to add any more at the moment, because as the others said I'm on the edge of filling the tank.

i meant i would remove the rest and just keep 4 species of tetras, a group of corys and a nice centre piece fish...

i know its hard to see or do but in my eyes it will look great with say 8 cardinals, 8 rummy nose, 8 lemons, 8 black neons, 8 gold stripe corys and a pair of bolivian rams. still alot of fish but more of the same types giving a bigger impact on the tank, maybe even remove the lemons and add a few more of the other tetras.
ive just added a group of 16 cardinals to 1 of my tanks and they look amazing as a big group.....

of course its your tank and you already have the other fish but tetras of any species look so much better in bigger groups

Thanks for the advice mattlee, but I really don't want to get rid of anymore just yet. When I have more room I will build up the numbers, I really Like the thought of Cardinals and Rummy Nose Tetras in bigger groups.

Now that I've given away the Honey Gouramis and the babies am I still overstocked?

So now I have:
5 Lemon Tetras,

3 Cardinal Tetras All in a 200L Tank

I have a Juwel Internal Filter ( don't know what kind, Sorry) and an Eheim 2213 External filter.

38 fish in a 200L tank sounds quite a lot, im sure your filtration is fine as your using the external long with the internal. if the fish have enough room then i cant really see it being a problem though. i would still think about removing the golden algae eater due to their temperament and size.
what do your nitrates get to before you change any water? as this can give an idea of stocking levels by the amount it rises between changes.
