set up with fake plants and real java fern and thin sand substrate waiting to be cycled
here it is

I purposely set it up to have bolivian rams as a change from small tetras and I've had cute corys in the past soo what i was wondering was...


Is it safe to have 4 Bolivian Rams with 6-7 emerald catfish?

OR

Is it considered better to have a pair of BR's?

I was also considering Panda Corys instead of the catfish if theres a compatibility problem with the rams and catfish

Any info would be appreciated

Hi 4 rams might work in there - it should do with 3 foot of length they are quite gregarious. But I would not get the Emerald Catfish these are a type of Brochis they are huge catfish as adults I mean seriously so much bigger than you would expect really really big - very nice though. Pandas would be a much better idea

A few open water fish like pencilfish or tetras would work well too

hi wills thanks for the reply, i will keep to some cute corys instead of the catfish i didnt realise they got very big i thought it was 2.5" max, i do like the look of serpae tetra as an addition or the black phantom tetra am i right in saying i would need atleast 6 of either to avoid nipping?

As for the rams i will probably just add a pair to begin with and see how it goes

on a nosey side note, did you get your arc 35 sold in the end?
