I just googled Red hooks and apparently they're bigger than commons and I may struggle to find red hooks so presumably I'd be ok With

The above list but just plain silver dollars ?

Yeah, the difficult with silver dollars from lfs's is they never actually know which type they have got, but red hooks should be ok, bit more pricey mind,

Hi mate thanks for the suggestions but I just got back from the fish shop ( actually about 2 hours ago but still) and have a tiger Oscar to join my parrot and I decided against the dollars and I read that clown barbs are good dithers so got the 3 the shop had and they're doing great and max out at a similar size to the dollars so should be ok

Yeah clown barbs are nice looking, max around 6inches, another nice barb if you can find them T/bar or another name Spanner barb,

Yeah they had some spanner barbs but they looked abit tatty so i decided on these and I really like the look of them and they're very active too

Well just looked at the barbs and one is a different fish it's not got the barbels out of the side of the mouth has red fins and is a different shape I'll post pics in barbs section for I'd

No its not as predatory looking

I'm pretty sure it's a barb still but not sure what it may be a female or male but I don't think so

Would you say 4 barbs would be ok as I think 6 will be too much in this tank ?

Also im struggling to source pimelodlla blochi so is there any other catfish ideas of similar size but more readily available ( but still active ) not asking much am I lol
