Hi all, first post to this forum :)

I have recently bought my first aquarium, and I went for a 90 Litre tank with a Ehiem 2213 external filter, i was advised by my LFS that this would be best for a 90 litre tank. I am currently doing a fishless cycle as i read on here that it is the best way to perform cycling.

Now the real question i need answering is what fish shall i put in there after it is cycled? I have been looking around and i like the look of a few fish, the species and numbers i was thinking off was something like:

2x swordtails
3x Corydoras
And some time of school fish, maybe cherry barbs?

Does that sound like to much for a 90Litre tank? i dont want to overstock and harm the fish :/

and how many for the school fish? 6? 8?

And which fish should i put in first? :)

Sorry i know im asking lots of questions, but im a beginner and dont want to make mistakes :)

Hello, welcome to the forum!

Stocking idea sounds ok but up the corys to at least 6 (they like groups).

What are the actual dimensions of the tank? Swordtails can get quite long and need a fair amount of width.

with that stocking you could happily have 10 cherry barbs.

.....the filter will be fine!

The measurements are 70 x 35 x 40cm :)

So you think 2 swordtails, 6 corys and 10 cherry barbs would be okay in that tank? Which fish should i put in first? :)

since you are fishless cycling, you should really try putting them all in as soon as the cycle has finished.

70cm width sounds ok for swordtails.....but I'd like someone with experience in keeping them to add their views (I've never ketp them personally).

Theoretically, a full fishless cycle should allow you to put all your fish in at the same time..although i have read that Corys prefer a tank that is at least a few months old.

Ahh okay, so il put in the barbs and the swordtails first, and then the corys a few weeks later, just to be sure :)

My tank is definately big enough for swordtails yeah?

seems fine to me, but maybe ask in the livebearers section to be sure.
