Hi fish forums. My question is if i am able to stock a 55 gallon with a firemouth, Blue Acara, rainbow shark and a female green terror. I was wondering if this setup will work. I know that the green terror will get big, but not as big as a male. Also they're not as aggresive form what i heard from various sites. If you find any problems with this setup pls tell me how i can improve it or change it. Thank you if you responded and helping me to fix my current dilemma. :D

I wouldnt do the GT, really do have a bad reputation male and female of snapping out once they get to 5 inches and I just think a 55 will be a bit cramped with them as well the FM, blue acara and the shark sound a good idea quite a few other cichlid options I think, maybe a female nic? Some are aggressive but mine is lovely, shes in my avatar. A lone HRP would work pretty nice as would maybe a Cutteri.

Wills :)

Convicts are nice too have creat character. I would steer clear of the gt too.

A 55g would be fine for a single GT and some dithers, giant danios for example. However with the FM and Acara, its likely to end in serious problems with the FM and acara, whilst female GT's are known to be less aggressive than the males, they are still aggressive fish and at 8" very capable of killing the less aggressive other cichlids. The rainbow shark might be ok with it.

If you want the GT, then keep it as a single cichlid in that size tank.

If you want the FM and Acara, then they should be fine together, possiblity as said with a convict and dithers.
