Got guppies and ghost shrimp in there now , but want more fish . Any peaceful fish that will live with them is fine, was also thinking about getting a bamboo shrimp but dont know if they current will bother the guppies or more importantly the sand which is play sand. thanks.

The sand is fine...be careful about the guppies though...you could wake up to literally hundreds of baby guppies in your tank. I'm hoping your guppies are either all male or all female for your sake..you said you want more fish, but you didn't say how many guppies you already have. This could factor out a lot of fish that would potentially need a certain amount of the tank as their territory. I'll list a few fish that won't have any problems with them. Cardinal or neon tetras, cardinals are way cooler in my op though. Corydoras, as they'll stay towards the bottom and won't compete for the food you give to other fish. Harlequin rasboras. Cherry barbs. I definetly wouldn't try tiger barbs with your guppies though.. Another cool bottom feeder are zebra loaches. Or you could add a pair of German, electric, or Bolivian rams to the 30g... Too bad they don't live that long though. Black kuhli loaches are pretty neat but they hide a lot... I don't know I'm kind of rambling off haha, it's really down to what type of fish appeals to you. Like small fast fish, slow moving bottom feeders? I don't know..

I like small fish but I tend to get bigger fish , love some kind of cat but dont know what I can get that wont eat the guppies. and I have a few 1 or 2 males and the rest are female so over breeding isnt really an issue. Would an upside down cat work . And typicly if I do end up with too many guppies they are mostly feeder guppies anyway and they get fed to my catfish downstairs or the turtles.

I'd get corys, wont bug the fish and love sand.

If you can I'd get sterbai cories, I'm saying this because I own some and they're great. Always buzzing around the tank and there the coolest looking cories out there. Sadly where I am they're going for 14$ each so that might be an issue. In a 30 gallon you could probably have 10. Another bottom feeder which you might like more is a bristle nose pleco. These only grow 4-6" depending on sex. Make sure the pleco is labeled bristle nose or bushy nose and not common though.

You could get any kind of cory in groups of 6+ and they should do well in your tank.

If you have 2 male guppies and the rest are female, you'll never have to worry about getting extra fish. Ever.

Yeah was thinking about otos as little alge eaters because I dont want the plecs to move too quick and stir up the sand, cories are great could I mix up species.

I would say not, they're a bit too big. How about a shoal of tetras like Rummynose or cardinal tetras?

Tek oot.
