Starting A New Tank

Hi guys,

a friend of mine is just getting into fish and is going to have a 3' planted tank with tetras and the like.

What would be the fastest way for him to cycle this tank? Been ages since i had a FW tank. Is it still add a few drops of ammonia?

Anyone ideas on stocking for him, its going to be about 120L

Read the fishless cycling sticky on this forum, and then he needs to get some mature media if he wants the process sped up.

yeah i know about fishless cycle, just checking this was still the best method.

it's the best method for the fish
ask him to ask his lfs for some mature media a lot of them will donate it to you as a kick start for his tank

Cheers, he always tags along with me when i go coral/fish shopping so he can ask then.
