I bought a BN plec (ancistrus sp.) today, however, i didnt realise until i got him home that he had a fin missing. I think it's due to injury, there's no other signs of damage around the fin and it's healed up, otherwise, he seems happy and is doing what Plec's love to do, try and suck their way through the glass and into your home.

I've dosed the water with an antibacterial, just to be on the safe side, and i'll keep an eye on him and how he's doing, hoping it will grow back.

Anything else i need to do? i dont see the need to quarantine him, he isnt infected and the damage has healed, just concerned about him.

And, if you wonder why i didnt take him back:
He wouldnt be alive right now if i did

You think like me. Lol. Glad you decided to keep him.
