South American Plants

can anyone give me some ideas for a south american tank please

Decor:
> Wood- look at bogwood as these leach tannins crating browny water which replicates the amazon blackwater environment

plants-
> anubias, amazon swords off the top of my head;
have a look at this link- http/www.tropica.com/default.asp, search the continent as south america etc. What lighting do you have and what size tank? as It would be easier for people to know this...

Fish-
> Tetras, a pair of rams- german blue or bolivion, angelfish etc. This all depends on the size of your tank. Giving more details would make it easier for people to advise

Be aware that South American fish can require a higher temperature of water- 28C.

Anubias are native to Africa.

its a 75gallon tank the fish i have allready are 6 black widdow tetra 4 apistogramma agassiz 5 apistogramma beanschi
the apisto arent all staying they are young only about 1" im just growing them on in another tank then im going to select the ones im keeping
is there any anubias that are south american i think bartolli is im not sure though

ok so what rhizome plants are from SA then

oh no thats not good i might have to get rid of the apisto and black widdows and get kribs and congo tetras as im wanting to do a lot of rhizome plants

forget that i just stumbled accross some info on the net nearly all the ECHINODORUS species are south american rhizome plants
its only taken me 2 days to find out lol

Don't worry so much about a SA biotope Jacko. Get some compatible fish and plants and enjoy them.

been thinking about it all day today its 2.35am now and im still thinking it over i think im going for the anubias with the south american fish im sure the fish wont mind really

true now i have fixed that problem i have another 1 cant decide which filter the fluval 405 or the eheim 2217
