Sourcing Ammonia In United Kingdom

I'm having real problems finding ammonia (I live in north east england) for the purposes of fishless cycling. The stuff in my local chemists is tainted with other ingredients so I'm not willing to use it. I'm happy to buy it online (already checked ebay and googled with no luck) so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.

Boots sell house hold ammonia - just type it into the search engine on the Boots website. I used in to fishless cycle my tank, and know there are others who've done the same. cheap as well!

If you dont want to wait for delivery, you can buy it off the shelf at Homebase. White bottle, orange label, its shelved with all the other household cleaning stuff. About £1 something for enough to cycle a small lake considering the length of most cycles!.

as said above boots do sell it, but I found not all stores stock it, the nearest one to me did not stock it but a bigger boots a little further away did stock it. I used the boots ammonia to cycle my tank last year, worked perfectly. good luck with your cycling

If your local Boots doesn't stock it, you can order it on the website and collect it from store. I think this way means you don't pay a delivery charge.

Considering the OP has 3 quite large (probably well established) tanks listed in his signature, we would imagine he has chosen to do a fishless cycle for a reason. IE Has always seeded and wants to try it out for the experience, etc.
