Sony Vaio Laptop Help It's Died

Not really in my experience. The old Thinkpad T20's / T21's took forever - even with their small 10 or 20 GB. Newer pc's, much faster / higher specs = much faster (generally the actual HDD's are faster too) to reformat and re-install (Win 2000 & these past few years WinXP). But then again, I only work with Thinkpads (the vast majority), HP's and Dell's (minority). So not sure how others perform.

Sorry for the slight hijack here RD ! How's your laptop doing now ?

It depends on both the size and speed of the hard disk. There are a few variables flying around here.

again, i leave it to you guys..
i only have 3 systems to play with...
seems like you work in the field..
:good:

still the same bloo, got my computer wizz mate coming round later. I is in really good condition because the guy we got it off has more money than sense and buys things for the novelty then gets bored and gets rid. All he had used it for was to draw up some spread sheets.

Let us know what the outcome is.

Good luck :good:

Have you actually gone to the Sony website (that link I gave you) to download all the applicable drivers ?
And what was done to "fix" the screen ?
