I'm in the process of setting up my ADA 60F and I want to put something under the rocks to protect the glass, I dont want to use egg crate as its quite deep and I dont want to loose space in the tank.

I have got quite a bit of spare filter floss and was thinking of using that under the rocks and then putting soil and sand over the top. Just wondered what people thought? Any reason not to do it?

Happy day...I agree with the whistler. As an alternative, you could also do coconut fiber. I've not yet had a an issue where the bottom of the glass was damaged as far as I know because...well...its covered up most of the time, right?

I saw a video on youtube with I guy putting all his rocks on bubble wrap. I have only ever sat mine in the gravel.
