A couple of weeks ago I bought some hygro. All seemed fine until I found a small tadpole snail. However, figuring it was small and I hadn't seen any others, I decided to leave it be.

But I've come home today to find two!

One of them is particularly large, at least a centimeter. The other is about half the size.

What should I do with them? I cannot just let them breed and overtake my tank, but I don't feel I could kill them myself.

I could see if I was able to get an assasin snail, but unsure if I will be able to (a LFS sometimes has them in). In the case that I can't, what would be the best method of removing them? I really don't want to have to kill them myself, any way of avoiding that?

Thanks

I personally prefer the assassin method, worked wonders for me. Others will advise to leave them, they do no harm. Others will tell you to place a lettuce leaf or piece of cucumber in the tank overnight, and this will attract the snails.

If the population of snails explodes, it means you're feeding too much.

Thanks.
I've never seen any food left, so I don't think leftover food should be too much of a problem. Won't the snails just breed anyway though until I'm left with loads of them?
