yea, fish arent for solving problems, because for every problem one solves, it will raise 5 more issues in your tank! Not saying its not worth it to deal with them, as the loaches are all wonderfull fish. I have yoyo loaches and they eat snails. So does my krib actually.

Squishing the snails provides a tasty snack for your tank. Most fish love the taste of snails, but cannot eat them when they are alive in their shell. Once squiched the fish will hover. I use this as a method when i get snails and my platys and sword get rid of the dead bodies.

Take care when you crush the snails. Their broken shells can have sharp edges and you can get a nasty cut from them.

I just squished one as my snails are getting out of hand and my fishes enjoyed the tasty snack .

I've found that assassin snails are the best solution. While they munch their way through the less desirable snails, they themselves reproduce very slowly. They are attractive and small and I've yet to hear anyone complain that they were troublesome.

They do reproduce, but the babies take an awfully long time to reach maturity. I have just swapped about 40 assassins for a bag of black sand, and we first saw baby assassins in August of LAST year.
